The given the vastness of the contient , the traditional music of africa is historical ancient , rich and divers with the different regions and nations of africa having distinic musical traditions , the traditional music in much of the contienet is passed down orally and is not writen in sub saharian african music tradtion . it also frequency relies heavily on percussion instruments of every varitey , including xylophones , drums and tone producing instruments such as the mbira or thumb piano .the music and dance of the african diaspora , formed to varying degrees on african musical traditions . include american music and many caribian genres such as soca , calypso zouk latin amreican music genres , such as sumba rumba , salsa and other clave rythems genres , were also founded to varying degrees on the music of en slaved africans , and have in turn influcuned african popular music ..

drums used in africans traditional music include talking drums , bou garabou  and djembe in west africa , water drums , n central africa  and west africa  , and various types of ngoma drums in central and southern africa other percussion instruments include many rattlesand sahkers , such as the koslka , rain stick bells and wood stick also africa has lots of other types of drums and lots of flutes . and many of instruments ...
