UB 40 are a british reggae / pop band formed in 1978  birmingham . englad , the band has had more than 50 singlers in the uk singls chart . and has also achived  considerable international sucses . they have been nominated for the grammy award for best reggae album four times . and in 1984 were nominated for the  best british group awards one of the world'st best selling music artists ub40 have sold over 70milion records ..

their hits single included their debet foods for tought and two us billboard hot 100 number ones with red red wine and can't help faling in love both of these also topped the u.k singles charts as did the bands version of i got you babe ..
the ethnic make up of the band's original lineups was diverse with musicinas of english scotish irish yemeni and jamaican parentage ali campbel left the band in 2008 after 30 years wiht band and has since relesed four reggae themed solo collections along with virtue . who left ub 40 soon after ali joining him on keyboards astro remained with the original band untill november 2013  hwen he left to team up again with campbell and virtue in a new verson of ub 40 ..
